The Imperial Realm of Glevum

It's been a bit stop/start on this, but I'm fairly happy with how it is turning out.

The Imperial Realm of Glevum (pop. ) is the personal fief of the Emperor of Thonia.  Although not the largest by area, it is the most populous and the safest area in the Empire.  Most visitors to the Empire never leave this land.

Even here though, much of the land has been reclaimed by the forests, humanoids, undead and the Irith, leaving ruined settlements and hidden secrets in their midst.

Glevum - the capitol of the Thonian Empire.

Harewood - a large town in the east of the Imperial Realm.  Situated on the Hare River, it is a prosperous trading post, but is over looked by the Burning Hills of Ximan to the north-east.

Greyling Tye - A small town to the south of the Greyling Barrows.  This was once a prosperous farming region, but several hundred years ago, a great evil awoke in the Greyling Barrows, and now the town is heavily fortified and undead are known to stalk the forests to the north.

Ewyas Humble - Human village, main population center on the Plains of Serison

Haremouth, Birdlip, Brimpsfield, Nettleton, Climperwell -  this area to the south of the Murchen Hills and west of the Vermilion Forest is the home to most of the halfling population of Thonia.  Mainly descended from halflings who traveled to Blackmoor with the ancient elves, in recent times, they have been supplemented by some yallaren from the Fire Shires and the Leeha region of Norwold.

Ymrhan - The home and school of magic created by the mage Mirtulan (AR 900).  Only moss covered stones now sit in the hills, but below ground there may still be secret rooms and magic yet still to be discovered.

Glissom Yen - Town at the fork of the Rivers Barnea and Darin.

Quilbae - The tombs of the first emperors of the reborn Thonian Empire.  These are now haunted by wights, ghouls and other undead.

Tresilby - An abandoned elithrium mining village.

Ashen River - Flowing from the Burning Hills of Ximan, this river is frequently choked with ash and the occasional charred corpse.

Greyling Barrows - A range of low hills, known to be haunted by wights.  These are the ancient burial grounds of men from before the rise of the old Thonian Empire.  Rumours of ancient wealth and magic persist.

Winoren Peninsular - Striking out over the Gulf of Glevum this peninsular is noted for its high cliffs, unforgiving rocks, and the Temple of Protius at its tip.

The Sorrowborn Isles - Once a continuation of the Winoren Peninsular these isles are known for the sorrowful wailing of the sailors shipwrecked on their shores.

Catkin Bars - A series of semi-submerged and shifting sand and mud banks.

The White Coast - Known for its white sandy beaches and cliffs

The Vermillion Forest - A heavily forested area, dominated by trees with leaves tinged red.

Burning Hills of Ximan - These once deeply forested hills are now a covered with burnt tree stumps and ash.  Any new growth here is quickly burnt by the magical fire vortices that wander here.  Ximan was a cleric of Zugzul who after attempting to destroy the temple of Serison in Glevum retreated here, and when cornered by members of the Order of the Whitespire, called forth a living firestorm, the remnants of which haunt the land today, some fifteen hundred years later.

Roding Forest - A lightly wooded, well maintained and patrolled forest.  This is the hunting forest of the Emperor.

Plains of Serison - This is the breadbasket of Glevum.  Many hamlets and homesteads dot the landscape here.

Wilton Downs - Gently rolling grassy chalk hills, babbling streams, small hamlets.

Wyrmhyde Hills - Forested hills, populated by wyverns and a pair of green dragons.
